Summary of the Day:
* blogging from 39k feet!
* snack prep for airplane travel
* a GIANT test in self control (aka free drinks in first class)
Today is a travel day for me! I’m heading out of this zoo that is LAX and back to my home sweet home, darling Minnesota. Since I knew I’d be traveling and I didn’t want to have a snack attack breakdown, I prepared three options to get me through the flight: sliced bell peppers, cinnamon apples, and roasted almonds:
It didn’t even take that long, I don’t know why I don’t do this more often. It’s a healthier choice than the biscoff cookies I usually get.
I wasn’t hungry for breakfast when I left for the airport, so by the time I got here I was ready to dip into those cinnamon apples. I also got a small black coffee. :)
I’m feeling ahead of the game today. Normally at the airport I end up getting something very “to go”. They have these warm buttery ham and cheese stuffed croissants in my terminal that I’ve gotten in the habit of ordering every time I’m here. I definitely feel better (and lighter) that I didn’t just cave to the easy airport meals. Whew.
So, because I am oh-so-committed to this, I have to tell you guys one of the stupidest? strongest things I’ve ever done. I gave up my free drinks and free meal during my first class upgrade! :( I know. I KNOW. Instead I am sipping on soda water with a lime. sigh. It wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be, but still…it’s hard to give up the free stuff. I remember back when I worked in an office, there were TONS of free foods. Free cookies, leftover pizza, and donuts in the break room. If I accepted every single free thing I would be in pretty bad health right now. So I just have to treat it like that. Just because it’s FREE, and it feels like a big treat, and it makes me really really happy especially with turbulence, doesn’t mean I NEED it. Ayiyiy.
PS – I nearly just gave everyone a heart attack when my screen flashed white for the picture. Oops!
Ok lovelies. If I can make this work while traveling, ANYONE can. Good luck at all your holiday parties. See you again soon!

Look at you, Fancy, blogging from 32k feet! Now hurry up and flap those wings, I’m waiting at the gate for you.
Whoa boy, I know what you mean about the free mentality. You’re doing great. “Can’t eat it.” Is such a better and more solid excuse than “Shouldn’t eat it.” It’s been saving my GF behind all holiday season.
Thanks lady! I have much more respect for you and making GF accommodations after this whole experience!
